Slow-Cooked Apple Cherry Pastries with Vanilla Cream
Puff pastry shells and your slow cooker make it so easy to make this delectable dessert. The shells are filled with a warm apple and cherry mixture and topped with creamy vanilla pudding...yum!
Ingredients
1 lemon8 apple(about 3 pounds), peeled and cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices0.5 cup dried cherries1 cup sugar1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding and pie filling mix3 cups reduced fat (2%) milk2 packages (10 ounces each ) Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Shells, prepared according to package directions
Instructions
Grate 1/2 teaspoon zest from the lemon. Stir the apples, cherries, sugar and lemon zest in a 4-quart slow cooker.Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or until the apples are tender.Beat the pudding mix and milk in a medium bowl with a whisk for about 2 minutes or until the mixture is thickened.Divide the apple mixture among the pastry shells. Top with the pudding mixture.
